About the Sessions:

As an Executive Director, you play a diverse and pivotal role, encompassing various responsibilities and functions within your organization. Alongside your primary duties, you are often called upon in an unofficial capacity to provide support and assistance to Temple members during times of crisis. This training aims to equip you with essential skills for effectively facilitating Critical Incident Group Debriefing (CIGD) sessions, particularly in the aftermath of events such as shootings, teen suicides, and other traumatic occurrences that deeply affect your congregation.

The objective of this training is to empower you with the fundamental tools necessary to conduct debriefing sessions in a structured and supportive manner. Through the CIGD process, participants are provided with a safe space to openly discuss their experiences and emotions, while you, as the facilitator, guide the discussion and offer valuable insights into the impact of critical incidents.

By attending and actively engaging in all sessions, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate these challenging situations with empathy, professionalism, and effectiveness. This training is essential for Executive Directors and other leaders within the Temple community, as it equips them with the skills needed to provide crucial support and guidance during times of crisis.

Cost:

Cost is $18 per participant and enrollment is limited to 16 NATA Members.

Enrollees are asked to commit to attending all three sessions.

About our Speaker:

Steven E. Kaye, a rabbi, is the founder of Or Chadash (www.orchadash.net), Denver, Colorado; a front-line provider (MSW) of disaster spiritual/emotional care in active shooter, mass causality, and aviation/transportation incidents; regional advisor with the Colorado and Wyoming American Red Cross Disaster Spiritual Care (DSC); chaplain for both the Denver Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service; and one of the first thirty-six Board Certified Chaplains (BCC) by Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains.
